Gabrielle Cooke has been named the winner of this year’s Founder’s Award. The Chicago native spent two years at TV-10, as a segment reporter, field reporter and then an anchor/producer on the daily newscasts. She was selected for the Chips Quinn Scholars program and an Illinois Broadcasters Association Multicultural Internship. She was a summer intern at WEEK-TV in Peoria, as a Multimedia Journalist. She has been hired as an MMJ at WCIA-TV in Champaign.
The Founder’s Award is given each spring to a graduating senior who embodies the principles upon which TV-10 was founded, by Jeff Hawkinson and others, in 1974. It is also a nod to one who shows great potential to succeed in broadcast journalism.
