At the Bloomington YMCA, a state work group met together with workers and families to see how they can change and reform Illinois funding to early childhood programs. At this meeting, they focused on accessibility and making funding predictable and constant. Within the meeting, outlined concerns included communication between services and families, along with finding a better way to offer access between each program. Members also discussed reducing disconnect between each service and keeping stability in the lives of families that use their services. The outcomes of this meeting can change wait lists and affordability for childcare in McLean county. The public will also be able to weigh in again at several different times before any finalization happens on the state end.
