Illinois State women’s basketball is off to a strong start, opening the season 2–1 with wins over Dayton and Chicago State. A major part of that early success has come from freshman guard Jaeden Pratt, who is already making an impact in the starting lineup.

Through her first three games as a Redbird, Pratt is averaging nine points, five rebounds and two assists. Her steady production and early confidence have stood out as she adjusts to the college game.

Pratt credits her teammates for helping her settle in and stay positive, even when she makes mistakes. She says the support she receives on the floor has been a big part of her success so far. She also praised the coaching staff for guiding her through the transition to Division I basketball and helping her trust her instincts.

Pratt added that believing in herself has been one of the biggest confidence boosters during her early games. With her strong start and continued growth, she is shaping up to be an important contributor for the Redbirds this season.
