Illinois State University students returned from Thanksgiving break to find campus covered in several inches of snow. Over the weekend, Bloomington-Normal saw its first significant snowfall of the season. The fresh layer of snow brought excitement for many students, but it also created slick sidewalks and colder walks to class.

The weather left sidewalks, parking lots, and bus stops coated, slowing down the first day back for many.Crews worked through the morning to clear main walkways, but some areas remained slick as temperatures stayed below freezing.

More snow is possible later today, with forecasts calling for additional accumulation between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Students are advised to plan extra time for getting to class and be prepared for changing conditions as winter weather continues.
