The view isn’t the only reason that people go to the top of Watterson Towers, while most people do laundry in the basement, students in Watterson find themselves in the penthouse suite.  A clutter of socks, and miscellaneous clothes can collect there. students have recently noticed a decrease in working washers and dryers. Annalisa Hernandez is a student at Watterson Towers.

“A decrease from the beginning of the year, but yeah its not like such a huge issue about when I can find a washer to use,” Hernandez said.

Some students check the free laundry website ‘laundry view’ which gives live updates on availability of machines. What they often see has lead to minor frustrations from residents.

“Yeah, most of the time a lot of the machines are down, or are like full of clothes, but they’re not running. Like people don’t take out their clothes,” Student Jay Lopez said.

As the semester comes to a close, residents are encouraged to use the Illinois State App, under housing, to access laundry view. At Watterson Towers.
