Normally, students in the State Farm Hall of Business can be found studying in between classes. on Wednesday, however, plates of shaving cream were passed around instead as the college of business’s pay it forward student committee hosted pie it forward. Despite being indoors, the rustling of rain ponchos could be heard as students prepared to be pied. Various registered student organizations participated in the event as a part of the student leadership advisory board’s rso wars. the more pies each organization bought, the higher they climbed on the leader board.

“We are in our RSO wars, so the RSO’s are competing to get their end of the year awards at the slab gala. So, they’re all trying to raise money for pie it forward and pay it forward,” ISU student Bonnie said.

The pay it forward committee aids students in the college of business financially. The fund, maintained by the students through fundraisers, are matched by donor Ron Whitton. The money raised at pie it forward goes to the committee.

“We all want opportunities to advance our careers. So doing that in RSO’s and internships, everything like that. Pay it forward is a reason why a lot of students can participate in these things and go to conferences. So, helping other students is a big part of why we are doing this today,” ISU student Grace said.

In addition to the many student organizations that participated, faculty were also invited to participate in this year’s pie it forward. Anyone interested in donating to the fund can visit ISU’s giving website.
