Bloomington Approves $60 Million Renovation to Drinking Water System

The City of Bloomington approved a $60 million renovation in September to improve its drinking water system.

The project includes building a new water station and new storage tanks. The city will also fix and upgrade pumps, tanks, and other equipment.

Some parts of the water s

ystem are very old. Some pumps and water pipes have been in use since the early 1900s.

The project may cost more because building materials, gas, and labor are getting more expensive. Tariffs on steel, aluminum and copper are also raising costs.

The city expects the work to be finished in two to three years.
