The zoo hosts the ‘Senior Tours’ on the second Wednesday of each month. Throughout the tour, participants are able to hear more information that is not said during a regular visit.
“I’ve been coming out for several years, and I’m glad to be able to get a little inside look and behind the scenes,” said senior citizen David Perhai.
The guide tells the tourists more about the animals and the story behind each exhibit, helping to bring the tour to life. Participants are also able to ask questions during the tour in order to get as full of an experience as possible.
Zoo tour guide Olivia Schuh said, “I think just to expand their knowledge as far as what we do here at the zoo, and how we really focus on conservation, and we care deeply for our animals.”
