Halloween fun is returning to Constitution Trail as Normal prepares for its annual Haunted Trail, a longtime tradition bringing spooky decorations and seasonal excitement to the community.
The Haunted Trail has been a fixture in the area for more than 30 years, drawing people back year after year.
“I think this has been going on for over 30 years, so it’s been something that’s been around for a long time,” said Hanna Razo. “People know about it. They just return every year.”
The trail begins near Vernon Avenue and continues to the Connie Link Amphitheater. Decorations, including spiderwebs and spiders, are already in place to set the scene for the Halloween event.
Mia Schayer said the trail’s location makes it a visible part of the community and could encourage more people to stop by.
“I feel like it’s in the center of kind of everything. It kind of goes all throughout town, so people are always walking through it,” Schayer said. “I think that they would be inclined to come and check it out with seeing the decorations and things like that.”
The event offers options for different ages and scare levels. Not-So-Scary Nights ran from Oct. 15-17, giving families and younger children a chance to enjoy the Halloween atmosphere.
For those looking for a more frightening experience, Scary Nights are scheduled for Oct. 23-24.
The annual event continues to bring Halloween spirit to Normal, giving residents another reason to explore Constitution Trail during the spooky season.
