For several years, Eastland Mall has gone through several changes and closures over the past few years.

Now, the Bloomington City Council has approved for a transformation of the site and attracting buyers to buy the property.

They are looking to reimburse expenditures, to not exceed the limit of 30 thousand dollars, and agreed on temporary development.

Council Member Mike Straza is looking forward to actually redevelop this important piece of the Bloomington-Normal community.

Public Commentator Nicole Hoffman views this development as a way to encourage economic growth, enhance quality life for Bloomington residents, and make a impact in Bloomington and Mclean County.

This project is meant to improve the community and improve on investment.

The redevelopment is set to negotiate within 180 days and some demolition by the fall of 2027.
