Beginning on Sunday, October 5th, Connect Transit is launching an all new bus route it is calling the mint line.
The mint line route will run daily and replace the red line, which will make its last trip on Friday. While the majority of Connect Transit lines run hourly, the mint line will run every thirty minutes starting at 6:35 A.M. The mint line will also travel a more extensive route than the red line ever did.
The buses on the mint line will add additional stops at locations like Landmark Plaza, Kroger, Shoppes at College Hills, Meijer, and The Chateau. It will begin at Walmart and be a continuous loop, with an additional 25 minutes to get riders to their locations due to the new start time.
Some Illinois State University students are very excited for the new route and the accessibility it will bring to campus life, and other Normal residents are ready for the convenience the new line will provide.
