The Office of Sustainability holds clothing repairs in their share shop with the goal of making clothes last longer. On “Fix it Friday” Volunteers come in and perform quick repairs such as sewing and mending. Fix it Friday is hosted every Friday from 10 am to 4pm.
The coordinator of this project Sam Lopatowski says “it’s a very important part of sustainability…” and” [sustainability] is something that is important to our community”.
Not just students, but people all over the community come to get their clothes repaired. Fix if Friday volunteers say that the event has grown and evolved over the years, and it is cool to see.
Fix it Friday has become an integral part of the Illinois State University, and Bloomington Normal, community.
