On Monday evening, Illinois State University students gathered in Felmley hall for a candidate forum, in order to hear directly from those looking for leadership positions.
Each candidate had about four minutes to share their goals and priorities, with current SGA leaders saying that these event give students a way to connect with leadership.
“If students really knew why we were here we could make a bigger impact on students.” Alondra Zagal said. “We can actually know what their concerns are and what they want their student fee dollars to be spent on.”
For many students, attending the forum provided an opportunity to better understand what Student Government and why it matters.
“My friends are running, but I thought it would be a good opportunity to learn about the other positions on campus that I will have to vote for.” Summer Collman said.
Voting will be available for students on March 3rd and 4th on Redbird Life.
