TV-10 students won two awards and three of the four scholarships awarded at the 2022 Spring INBA Convention in Peoria.
The scholarship winners are: Mia Bearden, Camberyn Kelley and Lizzie Seils. They each received $2700 from the organization, after an extensive selection and interview process, with candidates from universities around the state. Bearden and Seils (pictured) were able to attend the convention and receive their awards. Bearden will be attending graduate school at Northwestern. Kelley has been hired at WMTV-TV in Madison, Wisconsin, and Seils is at WEEK-TV in Peoria, after earning a Master’s Degree from the Public Affairs Reporting program at the University of Illinois-Springfield.
The awards are: Second Place to Maritza Navar-Lopez in the Best News Reporter category and Second Place to Leo Staudacher in the Best Sports Reporter category.
