The Efaw Center is now open in DeGarmo Hall. The center is named after Larry and Barbara Efaw and is being funded by the couples children. The Efaw center now has meeting spaces, t-vs, new furniture and more.
“So, we’ve got these beautiful Redbirds soaring in two different parts of the room. It’s meant to represent our Redbird educators that we are supporting and uplifting and sending out into the world to be excellent, thriving educators. We also have a poster by the front desk that has all the different program areas. Both graduate and undergraduate that we serve, and some other welcoming signs and art around the space,” Becky Beucher said.
With the renovations, the center is providing more resources, including the teacher wellness collective, which gives education students the opportunity to learn more learn about health and wellness. In addition to this program, the center provides test preparation resources, alumni mentorship and more.
“I’ve been coming here for about four or five weeks, give or take. They’ve been really helpful, I wish I knew about it sooner,” Student William Sanabria said.
Education students looking to utilize the Efaw center’s resources can visit the website for a connection form, or visit the center itself. It is open from nine a-m to five p-m Monday through Thursday and ten A.M. to three P.M. on Friday. It is closed for lunch Monday through Wednesday from noon to one p-m.
