Bike riding students on campus have not complied to dismount zones on Illinois State University campus.
The campus has had designated dismount zones around the quad labeled “Walk Your Wheels” since 2023. Despite this, there are cases of riders continuing their use onto the quad area and possibly endangering pedestrians. Some students who walk on foot through the quad believe that the matter is unimportant. While other have expressed that they are unhappy with the riders, finding the behavior scary and inconsiderate.
