Colder temperatures are on their way to Blo-No, bringing along severe winter weather along with them.
Illinois State University has already begun precautions to combat the winter weather. The hash tag Winter Ready is a campus wide campaign to increase attention on the cold weather and what to do in case of emergency.
Emergency Management Director Eric Hodges recommends having multiple layers of clothing available, having a winter weather kit in your car, and simply keeping an eye on the forecast.
The success of the campaign is going to be measured, not by numbers, but instead by stories. Hodges said, “We measure success when we start hearing stories of people who have gone through something and afterwards they say, “You know it was because of this, this campaign, or learning CPR, or whatever it was that caused me to act in the appropriate way in an incident.”
