The ISU women’s basketball team is already off to a great start this year. Showing both discipline and talent on the court, the girls have brought home two wins since the season has started. We spoke with head coach Kristin Gillespie to get her opinion on how she thinks her team is doing.
“I’m really please with where were at. With eight new faces to a program, it could always go one of two ways. I’m just really pleased of our desire to get better everyday that’s kinda what were looking at.”
One of the new faces mentioned is freshman Jaden Pratt who shared her experience as a started in her early college career.
“Starting has been a really big privilege I mean just now knowing what it’s going to be like coming overall. But just leaning in to all my teammates and when ever I have questions, they help and support me throughout it. Confidence in myself and also knowing the trust in my coaching staff and what they have in me.”
Next game, the Redbirds will take on Chicago State. Although we do not know for sure how the game will go, there is high confidence that Redbird Womens Basketball will continue on with their incredible season.
