Yesterday, the Center for Civic Engagement and the Town of Normal has their meet and greet with Illinois State University Students, Town Council members, and the department heads.
The purpose of the town hall meet and greet was to inform the students about the town of normal and sharpening their networking skills.
They was provided the opportunity to express to the town leaders and the change makers what matters to them in the community.
City Manager Pam Reece wanted the students to feel like their voices are heard and they are able to engage within their community.
Vince Smock wanted to know what’s going on in the Town of Normal and where can he go to for help.
The students was then rewarded with free food and passports to collect stamps to win a ISU and Town of Normal swag bag.
As a result, the student government was in a space where their voices is heard in the community.
