The Illinois State University yearly tree lighting event kicked off Homecoming week in Uptown Normal.
The lighting took place on Monday, Oct 19 from 6-7:30p.m.
Papa Johns, balloons, giveaways, games and more were all present at the event.
The first 500 students that showed up also received a free homecoming T-shirt.
Once the sun set the lights were lit up, making the trees glow ISUs signature Red and Green.
The Big Redbird Marching Team also preformed live music during the event.
