Chi Omega hosted their 50th annual March Madness charity dance competition Saturday evening.

Sigma Chi, Sigma Nu, Phi Gamma Delta, Alpha Delta Pi, and more greek life organizations participated in this years’ event.

This years’ show was themes around musicals and movie soundtracks, accompanied with custom dance routines, choreographed by members of these greek organizations.

This event means much more than picking out music, costumes, and choreographing a dance routine.

“First and foremost, we are there to raise money for our philanthropy, Make-A-Wish, and all of that money goes back to Make-A-Wish Illinois and they us e it to grant wishes for children who suffer from critical illnesses.” Jordan Schultz said.

Each year, there is an honorary wish family, with this years’ being Ryder and his family.

Ryder was diagnosed with leukemia at four years old, and his wish was for a play set to go in his backyard.

Make-A-Wish made that happen.

“The moments that they have have with us, that are like, they don’t get a lot is so inspiring to see,” Gianna Ulcigrai said.

“Being able to do that for them is honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in my life.”

During last years’ event, Chi Omega raised over $103,000 for the foundation from the school year.
