Over a dozen people came out to the Quad at Illinois State University to support the movement.
ISU Sophomore Kiemaria Jones said that the walk was great way to get involved on campus. Kiemaria does not see people talk about the importance of blood donations and blood diseases.
Kiemaria also states that this walk was a great way for people to see the importance of it.
Onyx Connect Media founder Tiifani Jackson was the inspiration behind their Sickle Cell walk.
Tiffani used to run 13 laps for 1/13 black people who had sickle cell disease.
ISU Senior Denise Sturdevant participated in this event and advocate for people with sickle disease considering she had a family member that has sickle cell disease.
Besides the slience that was left still on the quad, the message was loud and clear to everyone to advocate for people with sickle cell disease.
